This large family room home extension was completed in 2009, having been architect
designed to provide an occasional dining area and childrens play room. The generous
floor space benefits from an exceptional amount of natural light provided by the large
amount of external windows and doors. A sizeable lantern-light located on the tradition-
ally leaded roof above adds to the feeling of light and space.
This home extension is exceptionally energy-efficient with high levels of insulation
provided throughout. Double-glazed windows and doors are Argon filled and the walls
roof and floors have been highly specified to offer the best possible 'U' value.
Windows and doors were manufactured from PEFC certified timbers. The fully visible
internal roof structure of this home extension has been constructed from green oak,
once again certified by the FSC/PEFC as coming from a certified sustainable source. |
