HOME EXTENSION OVERVIEW:
Built in 2009, this extremely large home extension was designed as a play area and
an occasional informal dining space. The room is very light and well-ventilated facilitated
by the many opening external windows and doors and of course the double glazed high-
quality lantern light located on the leaded flat roof.
This home extension was specified to be highly energy efficient with the floors, walls and roofs
containing a mix of high-quality rigid and flexible insulation. The windows and doors were
sourced from a Danish manufacturer and are constructed from PEFC certified pre-painted
and pre-treated engineered timbers to provide not only guaranteed stability but also a
maintenance free life. The windows and doors are double glazed (Argon filled cavities)
throughout.
The roof structure of this home extension has been designed by the client's architect
and manufactured and erected by a specialist timber frame company from green oak
which has been certified by the FSC/PEFC as being from a certified sustainable source. |
